Daddy Grub Leaves for Work
Early one morning, Daddy Grub put on his little cap, picked up his work bag, and headed toward the tunnel.
“Time for work!” he called.
The three little Grubs hurried over.
“Do you have to go?” asked Pip.
Daddy Grub smiled. “I do, but I’ll be back before you know it.”
Mindy handed him his lunch.
“And don’t forget this,” she said.
Daddy Grub looked inside.
“Carrot sandwiches! My favourite!”
The children each gave him a hug.
“Have a good day, Daddy!”
Daddy Grub started up the tunnel, then turned around and waved.
“Be kind, help Mommy, and try not to turn the burrow upside down!”
The children giggled.
“No promises!” shouted Benny.
Daddy Grub laughed as he climbed toward the sunshine.
As he disappeared from sight, Mindy gathered the little Grubs close.
“Daddy works hard because he loves his family,” she said.

A visit from Poppy and Nana Grub Poppy and Nana Grub Come to Visit
One bright afternoon, the Grub children heard a knock at the burrow door.
“Who could that be?” asked Pip.
When Mindy opened the door, there stood Poppy and Nana Grub, carrying a little basket covered with a red cloth.
“Surprise!” said Poppy.
The children cheered and rushed to greet them.
Nana Grub opened the basket.
“I brought berry biscuits,” she said.
“And I helped!” Poppy added proudly.
Soon everyone was gathered around the table, eating biscuits and telling stories.
Poppy showed the little Grubs a new game, while Nana Grub sat with Mindy and shared stories from when Daddy Grub was small.
“Was Daddy ever naughty?” asked Benny.
Nana Grub laughed.
“Oh, just a little.”
That made everyone giggle.
Before long, the children were building a leaf fort, Poppy was leading the adventure, and Nana Grub was clapping and cheering them on.
When it was time to leave, the little Grubs gave Poppy and Nana big hugs.

Daddy Grub Prepares Dinner
One evening, Daddy Grub tied on his apron and marched into the kitchen.
“Tonight,” he announced, “I am making dinner!”
The little Grubs cheered.
Daddy Grub chopped carrots, peeled potatoes, and stirred a big pot of stew.
“Needs a little seasoning,” he said.
He added a pinch of herbs.
Then another pinch.
Then one more.
Mindy peeked into the kitchen.
“Are you sure that is a pinch?” she asked.
Daddy Grub looked at the spoon.
“Well… perhaps it is a Daddy-sized pinch.”
The children giggled.
Soon the whole burrow smelled wonderful.
Daddy Grub set the table, filled the bowls, and called everyone to dinner.
The family gathered around and took their first bite.
There was a quiet moment.
Then Pip smiled.
“Daddy, this is really good!”
Daddy Grub sat a little taller.
“I knew exactly what I was doing.”
Mindy smiled.
“Of course you did.”
And from under the table came a tiny voice:
“Can Daddy cook again tomorrow?”
Everyone laughed.
Daddy Grub looked at the pile of dirty dishes.
“Maybe next week,” he said.
And so the Grub Family ended another day with warm food, happy hearts, and plenty of laughter around the table.

The Silly Grub Family
Down under the garden, beneath a green tree,
Lives the silliest family you ever did see.
There’s Mork and there’s Mindy, all cozy and round,
With little Grub children who wiggle around.
Papa Grub whistles while fixing his hat,
Then trips on a carrot and squashes it flat.
Mindy starts laughing and drops her big spoon,
While soup splashes up nearly touching the moon!
The children go racing all over the floor,
One hides in a basket, one behind the door.
One wears a cabbage leaf right on his head,
And proudly announces, “I’m King of the Shed!”
Grandma comes visiting, carrying pie,
But Papa eats two pieces while walking nearby.
She catches him chewing and says with a grin,
“I hope you remembered to save me some, Finn!”
At bedtime they wiggle beneath every sheet,
With tiny grub noses and tired little feet.
Mork tells a story, then starts with a snore,
While Mindy says, “Mork! You’ve done this before!”
They may be quite silly, they may make a mess,
But nobody doubts they are wonderfully blessed.
For laughter and love fill their burrow each day—
That’s life with the Grubs, and they like it that way!
The Grub Children at Play
One sunny morning, the three little Grubs woke up full of energy.
“Let’s play!” shouted Pip.
“Let’s build something!” said Polly.
“And let’s make it BIG!” laughed Benny.
They rolled a little ball of dirt across the burrow floor, stacked leaf blocks into towers, and pulled their tiny wooden cart around in circles.
Poppy tucked her teddy bear into the cart.
“He’s going on an adventure,” she said.
Pip pushed the cart too fast, and around the corner it went.
BUMP!
The teddy bear flew into a basket of leaves.
For one second, everyone was quiet.
Then Benny began to laugh.
Soon all three little Grubs were rolling on the floor, giggling so hard they could hardly breathe.
After that, they built a leaf fort, shared a snack, and made up a game called “Don’t Touch the Mushroom.”
By lunchtime, the burrow was a mess.
Daddy Grub looked at the toys everywhere and raised an eyebrow.
“What happened in here?”
The three little Grubs smiled.
“We were learning,” Pip said.
“Learning what?” asked daddy.
Polly grinned.
“How to have fun!”
And from the kitchen, Mindy called out:
“Well, it looks like you learned very well!”
The little Grubs laughed again.
Because in the Grub Family home, playtime was never just playtime.
It was a time for sharing, imagining, helping, and growing together.
